Community Program
The Family Systems Institute regularly runs courses for members of the community
to make the concepts of relationship systems accessible to the non-therapy audience.
Members of the community are able to learn the principles of family systems
theory to enhance their relationships at home and work. Workshops include:
understanding the dance patterns of relationships,
emotional maturity in the workplace; and
clarity in parenting children and adolescents.
Referrers and community members are encouraged to check the web site or call
the institute to get an update on programs.
Clarity in Parenting
'Adolescents'
This course will explore how to parent with a clear set of guidelines in the midst of the emotional challenges of the parenting teenagers. Parents are helped to see how to respond to adolescents from a clear inner guidance system rather than reacting to the stress and demands of the moment. The Adolescent development phase will be expanded to include the Parent - Adolescent development stage.
Topics will include dealing with sibling rivalry, how to foster responsibility in teenagers, what is healthy connection with adolescents, how to set limits effectively and how to role model healthy relationships for your teens.
Video segments from movies will be used to illustrate concepts.
The course is run over four 2 hour sessions.
Cost is $220 per individual for all four sessions.
