Professional Training Program

Our post graduate training program consists of a variety of workshops, conferences, groups and live supervision opportunities. Mental health and other professionals are able to try out an introductory workshop or create their own program over an extended period of time to achieve a certificate in family systems practice.

Individual, couple and family therapy is taught from a framework of understanding the emotional system in which problems are embedded. As this is a model applicable to all emotional systems, it is considered as important to pay attention to the professional`s own family context as well as considering the role of self in work and social systems.

Workshop topics vary from time to time and include topics such as defining self in the system at work, avoiding therapist over-responsibility, family of origin coaching and the essentials of couple and family therapy.

The Certificate in Family Systems Theory and Practice allows individuals to achieve a set number of hours of supervised therapy and workshop programs which can be spread out over a 5 year period.

The supervision and coaching program offers a range of options for supervision of practice and coaching in Family of Origin work. These include supervision groups, individual case supervision, individual and group coaching and live supervision of therapy.

Faculty are also available to tailor training and supervision for the specific needs of organisations.
